Welcome to the chaos!

I tried to do this 5 or 6 years ago. Six months into my planning phase COVID hit and I decided it was best to give up on the dream for a while. I’ve been thinking about this ever since. Welcome to Favorites Bookstore!

This has been a long term dream, and I’m hoping it finally comes true. Our goal is to offer 80-90% used books and 10-20% new releases and best sellers. Why used? It’s cheaper for the store and the customer and it’s better for the environment. I’m a big believer in passing books along when I’m done with them. However, I think it’s also important to keep one’s finger on the pulse of what’s popular, what people are reading, and be ready to supply at least some of those needs to a customer. I also plan to offer other locally sourced items, including some book themed candles made a friend of mine!

At the moment I’m scouting potential locations. I have found one that is suitable in size and location, and is also affordable. I’ll have to secure it fairly quickly, even if I’m not open yet. If all goes to plan, I would like to be open by November 1 to get at least one holiday under my belt. A lot has to happen between now and then for the dream to become reality.

In the meantime we are trying to raise and earn money through various channels. One of those is GoFundMe. I am also a member of a few affiliate programs that I think add value to our store. If you click a link and make a purchase I earn a small commission. It doesn’t cost you anything to do this.
